Drew Swan Sibling Scholarship

About Drew Swan Sibling Scholarship

The Drew Swan Sibling Scholarship is in honor of Andrew “Drew” Swan. Drew was the sibling of Samantha Swan who attends Extra Special People, Inc. (ESP). ESP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency in Watkinsville, Georgia that creates opportunities for people with disabilities and their families to engage, connect, and thrive through 8 weeks of summer camp, 19 afterschool enrichment programs, and ongoing family support.

Drew was a determined young man with a passion, wisdom, and kindness not often found in the heart of a 19-year-old. He tenderly cared for his sister in many ways and both volunteered and advocated for her favorite place, ESP. A recent graduate of Athens Academy, Drew was set to continue his education at Rhodes in Memphis, TN where he accepted a track scholarship. Drew passed away June 5, 2017 in an accident. His last act of kindness was donating his organs to 8 worthy individuals. Drew’s legacy and heart for his sister will live on through the Swan Sibling Scholarship.

The Swan Sibling Scholarship will be given annually to a sibling of an individual with a disability. Donations to the Swan Sibling Scholarship are tax-deductible and will support this annual fund. Checks can also be made payable to ESP and mailed to 189 VFW Drive, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
