Camp Hooray Irma Recovery
About this Cause
***UPDATE*** As of 6 pm on September 13th, an Anonymous Donor has pledged to match the next $10,000 of donations*** ESP experienced extensive damage to our camp property, Camp Hooray, during Tropical Storm Irma. In addition to a current lack of power and water, the storm caused flooding in the Camp Hooray home that will require complete restoration, more than 20 large trees to uproot and fall, a number of trees leaning precariously, a roof leak and flooding in the cabin (where we currently have 5 full time AmeriCorps members living), and debris, limbs, and brush throughout many acres of the property. Current afterschool programs, a family fishing day, the upcoming Fall Festival (for more than 800 ESP family members), and so much more are in jeopardy. This storm has made it necessary to change the mission of our planned Big Trail & Tug event on Sunday. Now, our goal is to restore Camp Hooray for our participants- and we need your help! With over $30,000 in damages, please help restore Camp Hooray by donating today.
